The Barber Half Dollar series was one of three similarly designed coin series introduced in 1892. Designed by Charles E. Barber, the coins feature Liberty in a Phyygian cap and an eagle on the reverse. Although the series is not nearly as popular as the subsequent Walking Liberty Half Dollar, it has gained some popularity as a challenging series to collect.
